Everything to run it today. Everything to hand it off someday.
If something happened to you Friday, could anyone step in Monday?
The one place your family, partner, or CPA would look first — the EIN, the returns, the insurance, the key contacts, and how a successor reaches every login, so no one starts from zero.

Ready to hand off
We never store your passwords. Keystead holds the map — where each login lives — never the keys, so even we never hold a password to any of your accounts.
Right now, the plan is you.
The EIN in an old Google Drive. Last year’s return buried in your inbox. The bank login only you know. It all works — because you’re the one holding it together. But this Friday, if you couldn’t get to your desk, the honest answer is “nobody knows where anything is.” That’s not a plan. It’s a single point of failure, and it’s you.
No partner or successor lined up? It’s still someone’s to untangle — your spouse, your family, your accountant. This is the map you leave them.
You can fix this. Start with 20 minutes.
One secure place for everything they'd need — set it up once, keep it current, and stop carrying it all in your head. You can see exactly what's inside just below.
You never stare at a blank form.
New here? The “Walk Me Through It” walkthrough asks a few plain questions and fills the vault with you — one at a time, skip anything, nothing’s graded. Setting it up for a parent or an aging owner? Sit down together and answer as you go.

Never miss a deadline
Every due date in one place, with a nudge before each one.
Nothing slips. Estimated payments, sales-tax filings, annual reports, and tax-return due dates in one place, with reminders before they're due — for you or whoever's covering.
Keep the tax picture straight. Entity type, how it's taxed, the EIN, and every filed return with who prepared it — so a successor or a new CPA can pick up mid-year without a scavenger hunt.

The clean handoff
Hand off gradually — not all-or-nothing.
A shared doc is open to everyone, forever — or to no one. Keystead gives a successor a calm, read-only “start here” view; the full vault opens only when you (or an editor) hand it over — enforced at the database, not on the honor system.
Instructions in your own words. What to do first, what you'd want done with the business, what not to do, and who to tell — so whoever takes over acts the way you would.
Know exactly who to call. CPA, attorney, banker, insurance agent, and key contacts — with a “call first if I'm not here” flag on the ones that matter most.
Who can see it — you decide, per person. Keep it to yourself, share with a co-owner or partner, grant your CPA access, or set up a successor. Every change to who has access is logged.
Larkspur Studio LLC — Successor View
The calm, read-only page a successor lands on the day it's needed.
Do this first: Call Dana Whitfield, CPA — she has the returns and the payroll login. Don't cancel the GL policy.
Who to call: Dana Whitfield, CPA (Northbridge CPA Group) · Sam Rivera, Attorney · First Keystone Bank.

Ready when it counts
A doc can't tell you when it's done. Keystead can.
A readiness score across every section, so “ready to hand off” becomes a number you finish — not a half-typed file you forget about.
It keeps itself alive. Your renewal dates and filings become reminders before they're due — the reason a DIY doc rots and this doesn't.

Your passwords stay yours
We hold the map, not the keys.
A vault full of passwords is exactly what gets hacked. So Keystead holds the map instead — where each login lives and the one key a successor needs to open it. They get in; we never hold the keys.
Your password manager holds the keys. Keystead is the map — which key opens which door, in what order, and who to call first. We point to where your logins live; we never copy them.

Handled with care
Isolated, logged, and always yours.
Walled off from every other customer. Your vault is isolated in the database itself — a separate layer from the app, so one customer's account can't be served another's data even if the app's own checks failed.
Every change logged. An append-only activity log records who changed what — it can't be edited or rewritten through the app, so an advisor — or a successor once handed full access — can always trust the record.
Your vault is yours to take with you. While your plan is active, export it as a PDF, CSV, or a full data backup — uploaded documents download separately — and if we ever had to wind the service down, we'd give clear notice and a final export first.
I'm the COO of ENGAGE CPAs, and I still do hands-on tax and accounting work — so I keep watching people who've built something real put it at risk for one avoidable reason: none of it is written down anywhere someone else could reach. Keystead Vault is what I kept wishing existed — one secure place an owner fills in once, so a family member, a successor, or their accountant is never left guessing.
