Keystead Vault
For CPA firms & advisors

Open any client’s continuity vault — everything’s already there.

The EIN, last year's return, the key contacts, where the logins live — one continuity vault per client, kept current by them, with your firm granted access by email domain.

No client data required to explore the live demo · takes 30 minutes · nothing to install.
The Cadence

Estimates, sales tax, annual reports — each client's vault reminds them automatically, and their returns are a click away. Deadlines stay met, and the answer's already there when you need it.

The Handoff

When an owner dies, sells, or walks away, it's not archaeology — you open one vault and it's all there and current: the EIN, the returns, the contacts, where the logins live.

The Edge

A continuity offering clients pay for and stay for — proactive value that runs off a vault they keep current, not your partners' hours.

One screen

Your whole book on one screen.

Every client vault with a readiness meter and overdue / due-soon flags, so triage takes a glance instead of a spreadsheet.

  • Readiness at a glance — see which clients are exposed (no successor, no instructions) before it matters.
  • Overdue & due-soon pills across the book — your Monday-morning worklist.
  • Bulk deadline push — add the Q3 estimate deadline to 40 client vaults at once.
  • The document chase ends — formation papers, filed returns and who prepared them, insurance, key contacts: the paperwork you currently email a client three times for, already in the vault you have access to.
  • Access by email domain — a new hire sees the whole book on day one, no invite churn.

How firms roll it out

Three Steps, No IT Project.

1
Refer Your Clients

Send clients to Keystead and tell us who you referred — we credit it to your firm. (Automated firm links are on the way.)

2
The Client Fills In Their Vault

They add their own details — or you bill a Guided Setup session and do it with them on a screen-share.

3
Your Firm Gets Access

By email domain, standing view or editor access. You decide per client whether you're read-only or keep their filings current. With editor access, your firm can also hand a client's named successor full access the day it's needed — the handoff is a click, not an archaeology dig. Every access change is logged with who made it.

The economics, stated plainly

The economics, stated plainly.

25%
First-Year Referral
10%
On Renewals

Earn 25% of the first year and 10% of renewals on every client you send — with no promo code for your client to remember and no discount off your own fees. And a Guided Setup session is an extra you can offer and bill at your own rate, if you choose.

Note: AICPA and many state boards restrict or require written disclosure of referral fees (especially for attest clients). Firms that can't accept one can simply recommend Keystead with no referral share — the tool still does the work, and there's nothing to disclose. We'll help you set up whichever fits your practice.

Client tax-return information should be entered or uploaded by the client themselves — or only with the client's prior written consent, which IRC §7216 generally requires before a preparer moves return information into a third-party service.

Liability & independence

You’re recommending organization, not taking custody.

Your firm never holds client credentials — neither do we. Keystead points to where logins live; it doesn't store them. The client owns the vault. Every change is logged with who and when in a tamper-evident record — it can't be quietly rewritten through the app, so there's always a trustworthy history of who touched what.

Built for firms like yours

Built by someone who lives your January.

I built Keystead Vault from years of hands-on tax and accounting work inside a CPA firm — the returns, the January document chase, the EIN hunt. It's the tool I kept wishing existed. It scores 12 continuity checks per client automatically, across 14 sections of business detail, so "ready to hand off" is a number your clients can watch climb.
